A Nursing Home That Cares
Thursday, January 13th, 2011
The California Convalescent Center in California is a place that cares about the seniors living there and they show this by providing a great service and if you look anywhere on the internet you always and I mean always see positive reviews. This is a lovely place which cares and makes you want to care more because I actually have an elderly friend who stays there and I used to worry about how they were getting on there and whether they were getting along with the staff but, once I visited I saw that they were doing fantastic. They were almost always smiling to the point that I was smiling as well with them and were in a great mood but, that could be because we have not seen each other in a while. The California Convalescent Center is a place which cares for not only its residents but, also those who come to visit its residence because they know that visitation is key to putting a smile on the elderly.

Clara is a Fiend for Pro Wrestling
Monday, November 29th, 2010
My home health patient, Clara, makes me laugh so hard. Clara is a fiend for pro wrestling. It is so cute to watch her yell at the TV and get all worked up. I am Clara’s home health care giver, so I am there all the time and have had to listen to her go on about all of the characters for months now. (She is in long term care.) Since Clara is eighty seven I worried at first that all the excitement might be bad for her but her doctor says it is good for her. I guess it gets her heart pumping. Hey, if it helps her home health and keeps her out of hospice care I am all for it. To me it is more like a soap opera that takes place during a never ending bar fight. All of the wrestlers have stories and girlfriends and you almost need a chart to keep track of who are enemies and allies. But Clara knows the whole story so I say, let her have her shows.

Once a Family Has Agreed
Thursday, November 18th, 2010
Once a family has agreed to the idea of engaging a home health caregiver there are a number of considerations they need to review. It is important for them to remember that unless this is a long term care setting, the larger context of home care still remains their responsibility. Even the most gifted and compassionate helper is no match for the effect a loved one can have on the overall health of a patient. Perhaps this is somewhat less true in a hospice situation where end of life issues are in play, but generally speaking, care givers are there to help not replace family members. Acknowledging this at the outset affords families the ability to approach the challenges of caring for a sick family member with the appropriate mindset. They will see what will change and what will stay the same and how to adjust to those realities in a manner most comfortable and natural to them.

What Growing Up Means To Me Is Not That Same As What It Means To You
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010
Turning forty is different for each person. Turning forty could mean finally taking responsibility for your life so far, or finally becoming a good parent. For others, it can be a step into worry, as their financial and emotional obligations aren’t quite met yet. It could mean financial security for others, but to me, it means a step into the future. When I am forty, I will be well secured into my future with heavy finanical obligations, but the means and the fortitude to pay them off. Forty isn’t an age, it is a halfway point for the rest of your life, a chance to secure your status and begin doing what you truly love, while doing it with the people you love. Really the only difference I can see is that I don’t leave my house without my metal reading glasses. Other than that this age is no more than a state of mind, where you are finally free of educational burdens, and where you decide what you want to do with the rest of your life, and it is finally up to you as to how you will spend it. It can mean different things to everyone, but this is what it means to me.

Do Not Abuse The Social Benefits For Senior Citizens
Monday, June 28th, 2010
To help alleviate or rather to make the lives of the senior citizens easier for them, the government has been continuing its advocacy to find ways to help millions of senior citizens in the country. In this connection, the lawmakers have even revised the senior citizen’s act. Under the current revision, senior citizens will be exempted from paying the value added tax almost in everything: from restaurants, to supermarkets, to drug stores, to barbershop, and so on and so forth. But in the midst of all these perks, various businessmen in the country are crying foul on some who are abusing the benefits of senior citizens. According to them, the law has become unemployment benefits social security for those who are abusing it. For example, they said that some are using the senior citizens’ cards to purchase medicines by volume and then they would just secretly sell the medicine at a cheaper price. A similar situation has also been observed in a lot of restaurants throughout the nation. For these reasons, businessmen cry for strict implementation of the senior citizen’s law.
